BROOMFIELD, Colo.—Phillipe Dupuis scored the game-winning goal with four minutes and 10 seconds left in a Colorado Avalanche scrimmage Monday night, lifting his Burgundy team to a 3-2 victory over the White team.
Chris Stewart tied the game with 12:36 left and T.J. Galiardi added a goal and assist for the Burgundy team.
Ryan O’Reilly and Matt Ford scored goals for the White team.
The Avalanche held out first-round draft choice Joey Hishon and defenseman Kyle Cumiskey. Hishon has a hand injury, and Cumiskey has been slowed by a slight groin strain.
Burgundy trailed 1-0 going into the third period, but Galiardi tied it 29 seconds into the period with a wrist shot past goalie Calvin Pichard. The White team regained the lead on Ford’s shot past the outstretched left skate of goaltender Trevor Cann at 2:11.
Stewart tied it again at 2-2, using a defenseman’s screen to get the puck past Pichard at 12:36. Dupuis, who has 12 games of NHL experience, got the game winner at 15:50, flipping a shot over Pichard’s left shoulder.
The White had a chance to tie the game, but Peter Mueller missed an open net in the final 45 seconds.
Neither team capitalized on its power play chance in the first period.
