DENVER—Colorado GOP gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes is reporting that he raised only $14,000 the past two weeks, leaving political analysts wondering how he can continue to the November election.
Tom Tancredo, who bolted from the Republican Party to run on the American Constitution Party ticket, reported raising $120,000, the Colorado secretary of state’s office said Tuesday.
Democrat John Hickenlooper $218,000.
A Maes campaign spokesman had no immediate response.
Political consultant Floyd Ciruli says Maes has been abandoned by the Republican Party and tea party supporters. Ciruli questions whether Maes can continue campaigning with only $24,000 left in the bank.
