SAN DIEGO — Holdout wide receiver Vincent Jackson remains the property of the Chargers despite his agent saying he had deals in place with several teams before the Wednesday deadline.

Agent Neil Schwartz said he heard from multiple general managers, whom he declined to identify, that the Chargers were asking for “wholly unreasonable” compensation for Jackson, a Pro Bowl player who had two consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. Schwartz said another GM told him that Chargers general manager A.J. Smith seemed to be “squatting” on Jackson.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Vikings offered San Diego a second-round and conditional pick in 2011, with the latter going to the Chargers only if Jackson signed a long-term deal. Smith wanted a second- and third-round pick in 2011.

Jackson, a former star at Northern Colorado, will have to finish serving the remainder of his three-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy — he pleaded guilty in February to his second DUI since 2006 — and serve a three-game suspension on the roster exempt list if he does sign.

Those suspensions seem to be moot because Schwartz said it’s unlikely Jackson will play under terms of the team’s one-year, $3.268 million offer.

“Not now, not ever,” Schwartz said.

• Rookie running back Ryan Mathews didn’t practice and is questionable for Sunday’s game at Seattle because of a high ankle sprain.

Gradkowski gets call

ALAMEDA, Calif. — Five months after acquiring Jason Campbell to be their starting quarterback, the Raiders benched him in favor of Bruce Gradkowski beginning with Sunday’s game at Arizona.

Offensive coordinator Hue Jackson said he wasn’t concerned about hurting Campbell’s confidence.

“We’re all grown men,” Jackson said. “We’re all big boys.”

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis will not play against Miami on Sunday night because of his strained left hamstring.

“I want to be out there with them, but I can’t,” Revis said.

Faulk done for season

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Patriots all-purpose running back Kevin Faulk will miss the remainder of the season because of a torn knee ligament.

Faulk said he would have surgery in about a month.

Several Colts ailing

INDIANAPOLIS — Colts running back Joseph Addai (knee) and defensive captain Gary Brackett (back) missed practice because of injuries.

Linebacker Clint Session (hamstring), offensive tackle Charlie Johnson (foot) and Pro Bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney (rest day) also did not practice, and are questionable for Sunday’s game at Denver.

Footnotes.

Lions quarterback Shaun Hill will start Sunday at Minnesota as Matthew Stafford nurses a right shoulder injury.
