Two men are in critical condition today after an early morning, triple stabbing at a Denver fast food restaurant, police said.

The incident happened at about 1:50 a.m. outside a McDonald’s, at Broadway and Alameda Avenue, said Sonny Jackson, a Denver Police Department spokesman.

Jackson said the third victim was also hospitalized. None of the injuries are life-threatening, he said.

The incident unfolded as the three men were in a vehicle at the restaurant’s drive-thru window; one of them got into a verbal altercation with a pedestrian who was passing by.

One man got out of the vehicle and the verbal argument escalated into a fight. The pedestrian had a knife and stabbed the man. The two other men got out of the vehicle and they also were stabbed, Jackson said.

The assailant fled on foot and remains at large.

All three victims were taken to Denver Health Medical Center. Further details on their conditions were not available.

Police did not release what the men argued about or a detailed description of the assailant.

An investigation is ongoing.
