Taking a playbook page from a different sport, the Yankees brought in Super Bowl-winning coach Tony Dungy to address players. Dungy spoke to the World Series champions before Saturday’s game against the Boston Red Sox. Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes said Dungy talked “about preparing for what’s ahead of us” and that the speech was “more life experiences” than sports. “There’s a lot of new faces that weren’t here last year,” Hughes said. “It was a real treat,” New York manager Joe Girardi said. Dungy coached the Colts to the 2007 Super Bowl title and left after the 2008 season. He works as an NBC analyst.
