STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo.—Residents in Oak Creek have been told to boil town water for drinking and cooking, after a leaking valve left the town without water for about four hours Saturday night.
Water service has been restored, but crews are chlorinating the system. Oak Creek Fire Chief Chuck Wisecup told the Steamboat Pilot & Today he expected the boil alert to last until Tuesday morning.
Firefighters have distributed at least 160 cases of bottled water to residents.
