A three-vehicle accident involving a semi at Interstate 25 and West Alameda Avenue closed northbound I-25 for almost four hours Tuesday afternoon after a steel beam went through the windshield of an SUV.
Detective John White of the Denver Police Department said the accident happened about 3:20 p.m. White said one woman in her 30s was rushed to the hospital with head injuries. She was in critical condition.
The woman was driving a sport utility vehicle behind the semi, which was carrying beams that seemingly extended beyond the truck bed. A second car hit the SUV from behind.
