DENVER—Republican Newt Gingrich says the Obama administration isn’t keeping America safe from terrorists.
In a Denver talk sponsored by an anti-terrorism center, Gingrich poked fun at current Homeland Security officials for missing clues about the attempted Christmas bombing of a Detroit-bound jetliner last year. He also called for a new international effort to defeat extremism in Iran.
The former House speaker did not elaborate on plans to run for president, though Gingrich has traveled the country shoring up support for a possible 2012 candidacy.
During his talk, Gingrich was heckled by handful of men. The hecklers were ejected but not arrested.
