SANTA ROSA, Calif.—Marshall V. Marchbanks, a heart surgeon and former chief of staff at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, has died.
An online obituary from Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central, S.C., says Marchbanks died Monday at his home in Six Mile, S.C.
He was 63.
The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Marchbanks had battled esophageal cancer.
Marchbanks retired in 2007 and moved with his wife and daughter to Edwards, Colo. The family returned recently to South Carolina.
Marchbanks was born in Greenville, S.C., in 1947 and earned his medical degree Medical University of South Carolina.
He’s survived by his wife, Elaine, their daughter, Jessica, a sister, Sherry Marchbanks-Hudgins of Cedar Mountain, N.C., and one granddaughter.
Services are scheduled Saturday.
