GEORGETOWN, Colo.—A Colorado man arrested in Pakistan while trying to track down Osama Bin Laden is behind bars in his home state on suspicion of domestic violence.
Colorado State Patrol spokeswoman Heather Cobler says a trooper arrested Gary Faulkner Tuesday after a single-vehicle accident on a mountain road. The female driver of the vehicle had injuries that were inconsistent with a traffic accident. She was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
Faulkner faces a charge of third-degree assault. His arrest was first reported by Denver’s KUSA-TV.
Faulkner remained in jail Wednesday in Georgetown, about 45 miles west of Denver. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.
Pakistani authorities detained him in June but released him without any charges.
