WESTMINSTER, Colo.—A former student has been arrested on weapons charges after police were called to a Westminster high school.
Westminster police say 18-year-old Deginald Darian Johnson was arrested after showing up at Mountain Range High School Wednesday morning. They say school staffers saw him outside the school, approached him and recognized him as a former student.
Police say Johnson was arrested without incident. They say they’re not sure why Johnson was at the school.
Johnson was arrested on charges of unlawfully carrying a weapon on school grounds, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and trespassing.
Westminster police spokesman Trevor Materasso says Johnson is being held in the Adams County jail.
