Longmont Christian’s Wes Bennett ran wild against Sedgwick County in his team’s 54-48 overtime loss. Bennett, a senior, rushed for 465 yards and five touchdowns.
Flack lets it fly.
D’Evelyn quarterback Caleb Flack had 409 yards passing and three touchdowns in the eighth-ranked Jaguars’ 48-41 win over John F. Kennedy. He also ran for 83 yards and another score.
Mathews keeps rolling.
Jon Mathews rushed for 151 yards and four touchdowns as Rangeview whipped Hinkley 61-6 to remain unbeaten (6-0, 4-0 East Metro League). Mathews, who has 890 yards and 17 touchdowns rushing for the season, had scoring runs of 30, 4, 20 and 54 yards.
Herbert registers a quad.
Longmont’s Cameron Herbert ran for 158 yards and four TDs on 10 carries as the Trojans, ranked fifth in 4A, beat rival Niwot 45-19 in a Northern League game. Herbert had scoring runs of 37 and 80 yards in the third quarter.
53. Points in the second quarter for 8-man Hoehne in its 81-19 win over Manzanola. Second-ranked Hoehne had 75 points in the first half, and by CHSAA rule, the clock does not stop after a team takes a 40-point lead, which explains the Farmers scoring just six points in the quick second half.
