Aurora police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman found in an apartment today.

Officers were called to do a welfare check at an apartment at 1931 Clinton St. in Aurora at about 3:30 p.m., according to a release from a spokesman for Aurora Police.

When police arrived they found the body of a woman. Department spokesman Detective Bob Friel said trauma seen on the body made the death “suspicious.”

Detectives and crime scene investigators are conducting interviews, and gathering evidence.
