FRISCO, Texas — David Ferreira and Milton Rodriguez scored goals and FC Dallas set a Major League Soccer record for the longest unbeaten streak in a season at 19 games Saturday with a 2-2 tie against the Colorado Rapids.

FC Dallas (12-2-14) also equaled the overall league mark set by Columbus, which won or tied 19 consecutive games over the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Dallas also set the season record for ties in a season, a record previously held by four MLS teams.

Jeff Cunningham entered the game as a substitute in the 72nd minute for FC Dallas but failed to score, remaining tied with DC United’s Jamie Moreno for the most career goals in MLS with 132.

FC Dallas scored twice within a 10-minute span in the first half for a 2-1 lead.

Ferreira dribbled around Rapids defender Danny Earls and fired a shot from 12 yards away in the 37th minute.

Jeff Larentowicz scored for the Rapids (11-8-9) in the 13th and 51st minutes, tying it at 2 when he scored on a header from 6 yards away off a corner kick by Jaime Smith.

FC Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala finished with a season-high eight saves. Rapids goalie Matt Pickens made three.
