Dick Enberg is renowned for describing plays, but he’s showing his skill at writing plays in a tribute to former broadcast sidekick Al McGuire. Enberg wrote the one-man play, “Coach: The Untold Story of College Basketball Legend Al McGuire” to honor his late friend. He will introduce the play in person at Haid Theatre at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C. Enberg’s play debuted in 2005 to sellout audiences at Marquette University, where McGuire led the men’s basketball team to the 1977 NCAA national title. McGuire also coached at Belmont Abbey from 1957-64.
