The Colorado Mines men’s golf team shot a third-round 291 to win the Colorado Mines Invite at The Heritage at Westmoor Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Orediggers entered the final round 10 strokes ahead of CSU-Pueblo and held on to the lead to win the tournament. The ThunderWolves finished second, 13 strokes behind Colorado Mines.
Mines’ Jim Knous took individual honors, finishing with a three-round total of 5-under-par 211. Taylor Hulbert of Regis finished second at 216.
UNC golfers finish seventh.
The men’s golf team from Northern Colorado shot a three-round 872 to finish seventh at the Purple and Red Invitational at the Valley View Golf Course in Layton, Utah.
Air Force came in 10th after shooting a third-round 301 for an 885 total. Sacramento State won the tournament with an 857.
The Bears were led by Steve Bidne, who finished in the top 10 with a 213, nine strokes behind individual winner Jake Johnson of Sacramento State.
