With an Olympic gold medal and an American-record 11 wins last season on the World Cup circuit, Vail’s Lindsey Vonn still wants more.

Coming off what she described as the “hardest summer I’ve had so far in fitness training,” Vonn told The Associated Press on Thursday she wants to break the World Cup all-time record of 14 victories established by Swiss great Vreni Schneider in 1988-89.

Vonn will also be aiming for her fourth consecutive overall World Cup title when the 37-race season kicks off with a giant slalom on the Rettenbach glacier in Soelden, Austria, on Oct. 23.

“I try to improve every year. Two years ago I had nine wins, last year I had 11, so I want to improve,” Vonn said. “Vreni won 14, so it’s definitely possible.”
