A man who was working on the roof of Nederland High School was airlifted to the University of Colorado Hospital today after he suffered burns from 500-degree tar.
The man, Jose Diaz, 26, was burned when the tar splashed onto his arms, legs, hands and face, according to a release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
Diaz’s condition is unknown at this time, but the release said Diaz was conscious and breathing when deputies responded.
According to the release, no students witnessed the accident, and the school will not be affected.
No other injuries will be reported.
