Aurora Police are investigating a sexual assault on a child in which a man pretending to be a doctor was allowed into the victim’s home near Lansing Elementary School.
The assault happened at about 3 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Aurora Police.
The victim, an elementary school girl, allowed the man into the home when the parents weren’t in the house. The man pretending to be a doctor said he was associated with “Immigration” and needed to examine the girl.
The suspect is described as a white man about 40 to 50 years of age, at least 6 feet tall, with a thin build. The man has whitish or light blonde “curly” or “fluffy” hair, blue eyes and a mustache. He smelled strongly of cigarette smoke.
“People need to talk to their kids about safety and safe behavior,” said Shannon Youngquist Lucy, a spokeswoman with the Aurora Police Department.
Youngquist Lucy said the girl was from an immigrant family, and although in the country legally and for a long time, the subject of immigration is something the girl recognized as important.
She said the department had been unable to release the information any earlier because it was awaiting the completion of a composite sketch and interviews with the child by specialists.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Detective Amber Urban at 303-739-6102, the Aurora Police Crimes Against Children Unit 303-739-6155 or 911.
