A Fort Collins man died and a Loveland woman was injured this morning in a car crash in Fort Collins.
Jesse Chavarria, 32, was driving a 2004 Kia westbound through the intersection of Taft Hill Road and Trilby Road just before 6 a.m., Fort Collins Police said in a news release.
He failed to yield right-of-way in the intersection and hit a 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser traveling northbound and driven by Deann Romero, 57.
Chavarria died at the scene.
Romero was taken to Poudre Valley Hospital with serious injuries.
Traffic on South Taft Hill Road between West Harmony Road and West Trilby Road was closed for slightly more than four hours during the investigation.
