MANKATO, Minn.—Colorado College goalie Joe Howe made 35 saves and Stephen Schultz scored the game’s only goal as Colorado College beat Minnesota State, Mankato 1-0 Saturday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
Howe set the tone with 16 saves in the scoreless first period. He had 12 more in the third while protecting a 1-0 lead by the Tigers (3-2-1, 1-1-0). Howe had 29 saves Friday in a 5-4 loss to the Mavericks (1-2-3, 1-2-1).
Mavericks goalie Phil Cook was equally impressive with 40 saves in 41 shots. He stopped 16 shots in the final period.
Schultz scored his first goal of the season on the power play at 2:13 of the second period. The Tigers were 1-for-6 on the power play, while MSUM was 0-for-5.
William Rapuzzi and Rylan Schwartz assisted on Schultz’s goal.
