With Halloween looming this weekend, recalls have been announced for two candies: fun-size 10-ounce bags of Raisinets and 14-ounce and 28-ounce bags of Mega Pops.
Nestle is recalling Raisinets with a production code of 02015748/UPC No. 2800010255, which may contain undeclared peanuts. The Raisinet packages were distributed at Target, Shop Rite and Don Quixote stores. Three complaints have been received.
Anyone allergic to peanuts should not eat them and should call Nestle at 800-478-5670 for a full refund.
Columbina SA of Miami also is issuing a voluntary recall of Mega Pops in watermelon, cherry, orange and grape flavors because they may contain traces of foreign particles. UPC code numbers are 0 14272 10873 9 and 0 14272 10862 3, and lots 1240695, 1209708 and 1209796. The Mega Pops were sold nationwide at Family Dollar stores. Consumers should return the product to the store where it was purchased to receive a refund or store credit. It applies to all bags of Mega Pops, regardless of lot number.
