GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Jury deliberations continue in the trial of a 65-year-old Longmont man charged in the 1975 stabbing deaths of a Grand Junction mother and daughter.
The Daily Sentinel in Grand Junction reports that the jury in Jerry Nemnich’s murder trial worked through lunch Tuesday and quit for the day without reaching a verdict. The case went to the jury Monday.
Nemnich is accused of killing 24-year-old Linda Benson and her 5-year-old daughter, Kelley, in their home July, 24, 1975. He was arrested last spring after an investigation by a cold-case unit.
Nemnich testified he was assaulted by someone with a knife before stumbling upon the victims. Prosecutors say his blood was found in eight separate locations in the victims’ apartment.
