Aurora police have arrested a 54-year-old man for allegedly posing as an immigration doctor in order to molest a child.
Kenneth Dean Lee was arrested Friday morning for investigation of sexual assault on a child, according to Lt. Sam McGhee, spokesman for the Aurora Police Department.
Lee is accused of molesting a Lansing Elementary School student at her home about 3 p.m. on Oct. 19, McGhee said.
Lee will be held in the Arapahoe County Jail on bail of $200,000, he said.
“The arrest was possible due to the tireless efforts of investigators,” McGhee said. “The Aurora Police Department thanks the public for the numerous leads in support of solving this crime in a timely manner.”
The child told police that she was home alone when a man knocked on the door and claimed he needed to examine her for immigration purposes. She let him into her home and the man sexually assaulted the child, police say. The girl is from an immigrant family, and although they are in the country legally and have been here for a long time, the girl recognized the subject of immigration as being important, police said.
Lee has an extensive criminal history dating to 1974 for a variety of charges including drunken driving, disorderly conduct, fraud, property damage, assault, theft, trespassing, identity theft and marijuana possession, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records.
Lee was given a three-year deferred sentence on June 25, 2009, for a felony identity-theft conviction.
