Getting your player ready...

LONDON — The Broncos have arrived in London, somewhat rested yet mostly weary after an overnight flight.

The team went straight from Heathrow Airport to their hotel — which is doubling as the team facility for the long weekend — first for meetings, then to the Brit Oval cricket grounds for a light practice.

“Everyone was like walking zombies off the plane,” right guard and captain Chris Kuper said. “We started to come out of it when we got into the fresh air a little bit.”

The Broncos will spend the rest of today in meetings, but players and staff will have some time to explore London tonight. The team will hold a private walk-through at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

“It’s a great experience. I’ve never been over here, I’m not sure how many guys have, but it’s a very cool city,” Kuper said.

A few of the team captains, who arrived at the Oval before the rest of the team to meet with the media, as well as coach Josh McDaniels, spent several minutes playing cricket on the field before practice. Two British cricket players gave instructions on the very basics of how to properly smack the ball.

“I don’t know much about cricket,” McDaniels said, laughing.

McDaniels said all of the players traveled “great”, including those players who had injury concerns — safety Brian Dawkins (knee), receiver Eddie Royal (groin) and running back Knowshon Moreno (hamstring).

“We think that everyone who is here should be ready to go and capable of playing, so we look forward to having a full-strength team, or at least the team that’s in London,” McDaniels said.
