JEFFERSON COUNTY — A head-on collision on U.S. 285 on Sunday morning left one person dead and two others hospitalized.
The Colorado State Patrol said the accident happened at 9:25 a.m. when a Dodge Durango heading south near Springs Road on U.S. 285 crossed the center line and hit a Jeep Cherokee.
The woman who was driving the Jeep was killed, according to the State Patrol. The passenger in the Jeep, a boy, was airlifted to a Denver-area hospital. The driver of the Durango was also transported to a local hospital. The names of those involved have not been released.
