FORT COLLINS, Colo.—The National Science Foundation has given Colorado State University a five-year, $2.75 million grant for a new doctoral program covering the hydrology and ecology of water as well as socio-economic factors.

Jorge A. Ramirez, a CSU professor of civil and environmental engineering, will lead the program.

Ramirez says the program will train up to 30 doctoral students in civil and environmental engineering, atmospheric science and ecology.

The program involves 11 science and engineering departments at CSU.
