COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY: Announced that Jorge A. Ramirez, a professor of civil and environmental engineering, will lead a new $2.75 million research-and-education program to train the next generation of water scientists. The program is funded by the National Science Foundation.

NATIONAL CENTER FOR AMERICAN INDIAN ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT: Casey Lo zar, a member of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes and director of corporate and tribal development for the American Indian College Fund, was honored as one of the recipients of the 2010 Native American 40 Under 40 Award.

DESIGN WORKSHOP: Announced the addition of Ed Krafcik and Mary Martinich as landscape architects in the Aspen office.

COLORADO PUBLIC TELEVISION, CPT12: Appointed Peter Sells, Wells Fargo Bank, and Sarah Royce Ayers Christian, VolunteerMatch, to the board of directors.

CACTUS: Promoted Tara Childers to senior account executive, Allie Edwards to art director, Elliot Nordstrom to writer and Jorge Lamora to senior designer.

BAIRD: Added John Frisbie, senior vice president; John Bickel, vice president; and Lee Carlin and Roger Cra craft as financial advisers in its Boulder office.

SNELL & WILMER LLP: Announced that David Thatcher recently joined its team as a partner in the firm’s Denver office.
