DENVER—School board members in a north Weld County district are facing a recall election.

Four of five board members in Pawnee Re-12 School District will be up for recall Dec. 14. The fifth board member recently resigned.

The district serves about 80 students in the communities of Grover, Hereford and Keota.

Members of the recall committee said in a prepared statement to The Tribune in Greeley that they believe the school board has failed to uphold its financial responsibility and provide leadership.

The school district has been going through upheaval. A principal and the superintendent recently resigned.
