Federal Boulevard will be closed today at U.S. 285 as the eastbound bridge is demolished.
The Colorado Department of Transportation said that, weather permitting, both north- and southbound Federal will be closed from 8 p.m. Saturday to 5:30 a.m. Monday.
During the full closure, the following detour routes will be in place:
• Southbound Federal Boulevard: Motorists will take westbound U.S. 285 to Sheridan Boulevard, where they will return to eastbound U.S. 285 for access to Federal Boulevard.
• Northbound Federal Boulevard: Motorists on northbound Federal Boulevard will take eastbound U.S. 285 to Santa Fe Drive, where they will return to westbound U.S. 285 for access to Federal Boulevard.
Major delays are expected on Federal Boulevard throughout the weekend and alternate routes are strongly advised.
Fines will be doubled for most infractions that occur in the work zone.
