The Denver Rescue Mission is getting a response to their alarm about a lack of turkey donations.
As of Wednesday, the annual drive that began Nov. 1 had yielded no turkeys. By Thursday there were just over 200 turkey donations, but at 6 p.m. Saturday the count was up to 2,942.
In 2009 by this time the mission had secured about 4,000 turkeys toward their 6,000 goal. For more information, go to denverrescuemission or call 303-297-1815.
