The Sun Devils’ shutout streak ended at six games last week, but not until after Kent built a 20-0 lead in a first-round win against Coal Ridge. . . . Quarterback Richard Yates and running back Matt Florence have provided an almost perfect offensive balance for Kent, with Yates throwing for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns and Florence running for 1,255 yards and 15 touchdowns. . . . The host Skiers, who have been playing without injured all-state running back Nick Ufkes, opened the postseason with a 21-14 win against Platte Valley.
