NEW YORK — Jordan Hamilton had 25 points and Texas scored the first eight points of overtime in a 90-84 victory over No. 13 Illinois on Thursday night in the semifinals of the 2K Sports Classic.

Tristan Thompson had 20 points for the Longhorns (3-0) and Gary Johnson finished with 16, including four in the opening run of overtime.

Demetri McCamey had 22 points to lead Illinois (3-1), which shot 38.4 percent from the field (28-of-73), including 10-of-29 from 3-point range.

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Up 14 at the half, the Wildcats (3-0) couldn’t shake the Blue Hose (0-2), which opened the second half with a 13-7 run and then kept chipping away, until Rodney Magruder sank a baseline 3-pointer with 51 seconds remaining to make it 74-65.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Brandon Ubel hit a jumper with 7:49 left to give the Cornhuskers (2-1) a 44-41 lead, but Nebraska didn’t score another field goal against the Commodores (2-0) and made only five free throws.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Darxia Morris scored five points in the second overtime and, after Notre Dame called a timeout with 4.2 seconds remaining, stole the inbounds pass and hit two free throws as the Bruins (3-0) got past the Irish (2-1).

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Lady Vols (3-0) opened the second half with an 8-0 run to take a 49-39 lead with 15:36 left.
