GOLDEN — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office brought out its bomb squad and the West Metro hazardous-materials team Sunday after deputies responded to a possible suicide.

Deputies and firefighters responded to a welfare check at the Denver West Marriott in Golden on Sunday evening.

When they entered one of the rooms, they were encountered by a strong sulfur-type smell. They also found the body of the person the room was listed under.

Thirty-two guests were evacuated as a precaution.
