GLENWOOD SPRINGS — The Glenwood Hot Springs Pool will be fined for causing an accidental fish kill in the Colorado River this month.
Wildlife and public-health officials have ordered the fine for a release of chlorine-bleach mixture into the Colorado River on Nov. 2. The spill was caused by an accident during pool maintenance.
The spill has been blamed for killing at least 84 fish, including trout and whitefish.
The size of the fine hasn’t been determined. The Department of Wildlife said the maximum fine is $2,940.
