BROOMFIELD — A family left with half a roof after it was removed by roofers who apparently had the wrong address is getting some very generous help.

Wednesday night, homeowner Rick Peterson told 9News, “We don’t have a roof. We have a 3-year-old, with no roof, and it’s cold and supposed to snow.”

But at 7 on Thanksgiving morning, Peterson’s wife, Monique McCue, said, “I saw a roofing company truck in our driveway.”

“He’s like, ‘I saw your story on the news last night, and I just really want to help you guys out,’ ” McCue said.

Big Blue Roofing Company out of Littleton wasn’t the only one to show up on a holiday; in all, five companies knocked on the family’s door.

The family says their roof is now better than it was before.
