The Avalanche today traded defenseman Colby Cohen, who is with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League, to the Boston Bruins for third-year defenseman Matt Hunwick.

Hunwick, 25, is a 5-foot-11, 193-pound former University of Michigan star who has a goal and two assists in 22 games this season with the Bruins.

Cohen is in his rookie pro season after signing with the Avalanche last spring, following his junior season at Boston University. He played three games for Colorado in a brief callup and has no points.
