Jim Carpenter, who has been Gov. Bill Ritter’s chief of staff since 2006, plans to leave that post in mid-December for a consulting job.
Ritter’s office announced Monday that Carpenter will join political consultant Mike Stratton at Stratton-Carpenter Associates.
“Jim has been a linchpin in moving our agenda forward,” Ritter said in a statement.
Carpenter managed Ken Salazar’s 2004 U.S. Senate election and served as his state director before joining Ritter’s administration and was chief of staff for former Gov. Roy Romer.
