“In God We Trust” is the official motto of the United States.
Just don’t tell that to Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson.
In overtime Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Johnson, the team’s leading receiver, dropped a perfectly thrown pass in the end zone for what would have been a 40-yard, game-winning touchdown. Instead, the Steelers won the game on their next possession.
After the game, Johnson was inconsolable. Then later, he placed the blame on THE head coach.
On his Twitter account, Johnson wrote: “I praise you 2 4/7!!!!! And this is how you do me!!!!! You expect me to learn from this??? How???!!!”
On Monday, Johnson, in a tweet, dismissed the notion that he was blaming God.
“No I Did Not Blame God People! Seriously??!? CMon! I Simply Cried Out And Asked Why?”
Just like all of Johnson’s teammates and Bills fans.
