Colorado led 34-19 at halftime then scored the first nine points of the second half for a 24-point lead.
Two 3-pointers from Aaron Urbanus and five points from Perry Petty pulled the Broncs (2-6) within 54-39 with 12:55 left, but the Buffaloes (3-3) responded with a 9-3 run.
Buffs guard Nate Tomlinson left early after taking an elbow to the neck. He was taken for X-rays, but an immediate prognosis was not available.
