Missy Franklin of the Colorado Stars swim team earned one podium finish and placed fourth in another event Thursday at the U.S. Short Course National Championships in Columbus, Ohio.

Franklin, a sophomore at Regis Jesuit High School, finished third in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1 minute, 55.32 seconds, a little more than a second behind the winner, Katinka Hosszu, a junior at Southern California who swam in the 2008 Beijing Olympics for her native Hungary. Franklin finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.33, 0.16 seconds behind the winner, four-time Olympic silver medalist Kara Lynn Joyce.

Jordan Mattern, a senior at Cherry Creek High School who also swims for the Stars, finished 34th in the 200 IM.
