DURANGO, Colo.—Outgoing Democratic Rep. John Salazar of Colorado says he’s considering a 2012 rematch against the Republican who beat him last month.
Salazar told The Durango Herald that he’s keeping all options open, saying “We’re thinking that we might run again in two years, but who knows?”
Salazar lost to Republican state Rep. Scott Tipton by 3 percentage points. Salazar told the Herald that race was “unwinnable” because of outside campaign spending by conservative interests.
The three-term Democrat ran against Tipton in 2006 and won handily. Salazar told the newspaper that he has no regrets about his time in Washington.
