ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Tyler Johnson scored two goals as Colorado College beat St. Cloud State 5-2 on Saturday for a sweep of their Western Collegiate Hockey Association series.
Johnson’s first goal on the power play at 16:59 of the first period gave the Tigers a 3-1 lead. He also scored at even strength in the third to give CC (10-7-1, 7-5-0) its biggest lead at 5-1. Johnson also had a goal in Friday’s 3-0 win.
St. Cloud State (5-11-2, 3-8-1) outshot the Tigers 31-29, but Joe Howe made 29 saves, including 12 in the third period.
