Lindsay Lohan was reportedly provoked by being named one of the most provocative celebs of 2010.
The 24-year-old actress didn’t see the honor in being name one of HLN’s “Showbiz Tonight” the most provocative celebrities of 2010.
Sources close to the starlet, now undergoing rehab in a sober living house, told TMZ that she was “beyond upset” to be featured on the list, which was announced Dec. 7.
The show’s producer, Sid Lipsey, said the list was based on “who provoked the most visceral reaction, who provoked the most continuous shock and outrage, who generated the most continued interest throughout the year (and) who had the most lasting impact.”
Also named were Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen and Miley Cyrus. The No. 1 most-provocative title went to Lady Gaga.
“Lohan’s ending the year in rehab,” Lipsey said, “leaving some to speculate (and hope) that this may be the last year we see her on the Most Provocative list.”
It seems Lohan is hoping for that, too – and hoping her celebrity pals will no longer make her the butt of jokes.
The actress’ mom, Dina, told RadarOnline that her daughter is “so upset” with supposed friend Gwyneth Paltrow, who made fun of Lohan during a guest appearance last month on “Glee.”
In the Nov. 16 episode, Paltrow played a Spanish teacher who, during a lesson, tells her students that Lohan is “totally crazy,” and asks “How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?”
“Lindsay was watching it while in Betty Ford,” Dina explained to Radar, “then she called me and was upset and said, ‘Why did she have to do that?'”
British actress and model Elizabeth Hurley says she has separated from her Indian husband of three years, Arun Nayar.
Hurley’s announcement on her Twitter account comes amid reports in British tabloids linking her romantically to Australian cricket star Shane Warne. Warne yesterday confirmed he has also split from his wife.
“Not a great day,” Hurley, 45, tweeted Sunday. “For the record, my husband Arun & I separated a few months ago.” The couple married in 2007 at a castle outside of London. They followed up the private civil ceremony with a lavish and traditional Hindi wedding in Jodphur, India.
Hurley, 45, dated actor Hugh Grant for more than a decade and has an eight-year-old son, Damian, from a relationship with film producer Steve Bing.
No sooner had Kate Middleton and Prince William released their engagement photos yesterday than online clothing sellers were cashing in on the stunning white dress she wore.
The Reiss belted Nanette gown with three-quarter length sleeves was advertised on eBay yesterday as ‘new’ for $284, according to London’s Daily Mail.
The same dress – which, the seller warned, has dusty shoulders and may need dry cleaning – was for sale on the auction website a week ago for just $157.
The dress, which was in last season’s autumn/winter collection, is no longer available in Reiss shops, the brand said.
The higher online price came with the blurb: “Same dress worn by Kate Middleton in the formal engagement photographs with Prince William.”
Middleton wore the dress in the more formal of two official pictures of William and Kate taken by Princess Diana’s friend Mario Testino.
Rapper Ja Rule yesterday pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon stemming from a July 2007 stop of his luxury sports car.
Wearing dark-blue jeans and a black sweater, the rapper said “guilty” and answered “yes” in a low voice to a judge’s questions.
“Because of your guilty plea here today, you’ll have a record of having committed a violent felony. This is a very serious matter,” Manhattan state Supreme Court Justice Richard Carruthers told the rapper.
“This isn’t a good day,” Ja Rule said as he left the court. He declined to discuss the case.
Specifically, the rapper admitted to a charge that involves attempting to have a loaded gun outside one’s home or workplace.
Police said they found a loaded semiautomatic gun in a rear door of the $250,000-plus car after it was stopped for speeding.
In court yesterday, Ja Rule was promised a two-year prison sentence. He’s free until sentencing, on a date yet to be set. He is due in court Feb. 9 for an update.
The 34-year-old could have faced up to 15 years in prison, if convicted on the gun charge.
Known for his gravelly voice and collaborations with artists including Ashanti and Jennifer Lopez, Ja Rule scored a 2002 nomination for the best rap album Grammy Award with “Pain is Love.” Born Jeffrey Atkins, he also has appeared in movies, including the 2001 film “The Fast and the Furious” and 2003’s “Scary Movie 3.”
