AURORA — Claudia Jimenez-Cedillo, 27, of Aurora was sentenced to 24 years in prison and five years of parole Monday for the 2008 death of her 1-year-old niece.
Prosecutors said Jimenez-Cedillo was babysitting when she became frustrated and violently shook the teething girl several times when she wouldn’t stop crying. She also struck the child’s head on a crib, causing a skull fracture and bleeding in the brain and behind the eyes.
