Douglas County detectives arrested a 32-year-old Parker man and a 71-year-old Glenwood Springs man this month on separate charges they distributed child pornography over the Internet, the sheriff’s department said this afternoon.
David Baum of Parker was arrested last Tuesday after Douglas County’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit arrived at his home with a search warrant. He was booked into the Douglas County jail on two counts of sexual exploitation of a child and later released on $10,000 bond.
Ronald Barrett was arrested Dec. 11 in Glenwood Springs on charges stemming from an investigation in April at his former residence in Sedalia, according to sheriff’s deputies.
Detectives found images of child porn that had been distributed on the Internet on Barrett’s home computer, but he was in the hospital at the time. When officers returned to arrest him, Barrett had left town, according to sheriff’s deputies. The arrest warrant was served in Glenwood Springs charging him with eight counts sexual exploitation of a child. He was released on $50,000 bond.
