PUEBLO, Colo.—Pueblo County deputies say a 17-year-old boy is suspected in the June shooting death of a Pueblo West man.
The sheriff’s department said Friday an arrest warrant has been issued but the teen is believed to be out of town with his mother for the holidays.
The Pueblo Chieftain reports the teen is wanted on suspicion of first-degree murder, burglary, theft and possession of a handgun by a minor. His name wasn’t released because he is a minor.
Deputies say he is a sophomore or junior at Pueblo West High School.
Investigators say Hopkins was shot by an intruder who entered his home through a partially opened door at about 2 a.m. on June 21. They say the shooting appeared to be random.
