A 15-inch water main at 15th and Wewatta streets, near the Gates Corp. building in lower downtown, is being repaired by Denver Water.
Denver Water spokeswoman Stacy Chesney said 15th Street between Wewatta and Wynkoop streets will be closed until about 11 p.m.
Water service has been restored to two businesses that were temporarily without water, said Chesney.
The break was reported shortly after 10 a.m.
The main was installed in 1883.
