BOULDER, Colo.—The city of Boulder is expanding its efforts to educate immigrants about government, city services, and how to become a U.S. citizen.
The city will increase its efforts in 2011 to reach immigrants in conjunction with a project from the National League of Cities. The project called Municipal Action for Immigrant Integration will include public service announcements, education television programs and other marketing materials at no cost to the city.
The Boulder Daily Camera reports that about 69 percent of Boulder’s estimated 10,600 foreign-born residents are not U.S. citizens. That’s according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey.
