Denver Police arrested a man Tuesday who they believe is responsible for two robberies in over a week.

While officers were near 52nd Avenue and Tejon Street on Tuesday looking for a man wanted in a Dec. 22 robbery, they received a call of an armed robbery just a few blocks away.

Police responded to the area of 52nd Avenue and Clay Street where a woman said a man had tried to rob her at knife point.

Police soon located the man at Zuni Park, and the victim identified him as the man who tried to rob her.

Police have the man in custody for investigation of Tuesday’s robbery as well as the robbery on Dec. 22 that occurred in the 1800 block of West 51st Avenue.

In the Dec. 22 incident, the man knocked on a house door. When a woman answered the door, the man forced his way in, demanding money and using a serrated knife to threaten the woman.

The man has not yet been identified. He is being held for investigation of aggravated robbery, first degree burglary, and kidnapping.
